European Energy Exchange (EEX) veröffentlicht Verkaufskalender für BEHG nEHS Zertifikate

European Energy Exchange (EEX) publishes 2021 sales calendar for certificates in national emissions trading (nEHS)

There is renewed movement on the topic of national emissions trading: EEX announces the sales dates for the sale of allowances in national emissions trading for 2021. Consequently, they should be available for purchase twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 09:30 to 15:30 (Central European Time).

First deadline is 05 October 2021 (Tuesday) at 09:30. The last date of sale, on the other hand, is expected to be December 07, 2021.

For the time being, the number of certificates available in the fixed-price phase (from 2021 to 2025) is unlimited.

The certificates are issued during the fixed-price phase at a price set by law. The fixed price ofCO2 certificates will rise from €25/tCO2 (2021) to €55/tCO2 (2025). From 2026, the fixed-price system is then to change to an auction procedure.

In addition, since 09 August 2021, companies can register for the purchase of certificates at the EEX. The most important prerequisite for this is that the companies already have an account in the DEHSt’s nEHS register.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Gallehr Sustainable Risk Management GmbH is also listed as an intermediary on the official site of the EEX.
