DEHSt gives the go-ahead for the national emissions trading registry
\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Movement on the topic of national emissions trading(nEHS<\/a>): as of this week, as of 12.05.2021, SESTA officers can apply to open their compliance accounts in the nEHS register<\/a>. A compliance account is mandatory in order to be able to hold, surrender and trade emission allowances.<\/p>\n

Before an account application can be submitted to open a compliance account, the respective account holder and the associated authorized representatives must first register. The account holder<\/strong> is authenticated by DEHSt<\/a> via the ELSTER authentication service of the tax authority. This in turn requires an ELSTER<\/a> company certificate<\/strong> and the corresponding password.<\/p>\n

For the registration of authorised representatives<\/strong>, two different methods are offered:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The online ID card function (provided the ID card is activated for the procedure)<\/li>\n
  2. And via the use of a private ELSTER certificate (however, this method is not yet available at this time).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    More details on account opening and registration as well as our own experiences regarding the opening process will follow shortly.<\/p>\n
